Motor manufacturers are gearing up for a busy time in 2017 with a huge number of launches planned for the year. We can expect to see facelifts on models such as the Audi A5 Sportback, BMW 5-series, Volkswagen Golf and the Fiat 500L while we’re looking forward to the Vauxhall Crossland X, which is set to replace the Meriva, and the Renault Koleos which shares a platform with the Kadjar and the Qashqai.

Drivers looking to save on the Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) changes due this April will be keeping a close eye on the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid and the Volkswagen e-Golf expected in March.

Autocar has produced a comprehensive list of the models we can expect to see in the next 12 months.

While a new car purchase maybe the top priority for many this year, after deciding on the model, the colour will be next on the agenda.

White maintained its position as the UK’s most popular new car colour for the fourth consecutive year, according to data released by SMMT. More than half a million new car buyers chose the colour last year – a fifth of all registrations – although figures show its popularity is starting to fade with demand falling 2.1%, the first drop since 2005.
